GROUP THERAPY

What is Group Therapy?

Group Therapy is a setting where 5-6 people gather in a confidential, committed, safe place where topics are discussed and shared. These types of sharings may include personal experiences, struggles, and victories. At times, it may be a “psychoeducational” platform where the therapist may lead about a certain topic and teach on a particular subject and share her knowledge/insight.

What is Betrayal Trauma Group?

Betrayal Trauma is when your spouse or partner has lied to you and left your heart in pieces due to an emotional/sexual affair, cheating, porn/sex addiction, and other sexually acting out behaviors that you may have “accidentally” discovered or found out about from a third party. Whatever the case, you found out the truth and now feeling utterly broken, confused, hopeless, depressed, angry, paranoid and just a rollercoaster of emotions. Studies show that betrayed partners suffer from PTSD symptoms like hypervigilance, anxiety, helplessness, and nervousness.

“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
